Big changes have or are about to occur in three well-known browsers: Internet Explorer is finally being updated, with version 7 in its third beta and almost ready to roll out the door; Firefox is also ripening an upgrade beta for its Version 2.0—it’s in beta 1; and finally Opera, which has a devoted but smaller following, has recently come out with Version 9.0.

I couldn’t add a comment to the original article, so I’ll do it here.
(Actually! is it just me or have you not credited your source!

Opera:
Add-ins: Widgets
Also has the UserJavascript, and UserCSS however not as usable for most.
Spell-checker for text boxes
Well it DOES have support for Aspell, as long as thats installed in the system first.. Right click a box and select Spell check.. not as inline as firefox2, but been there awhile.
The Content Blocker is just as good as an ad blocker… Which a browser would be crazy to support(Else webmasters would be forced to turn opera users away)

I did indeed, as you can see there is “Ziff Davis” mentioned there.
I have Aspell, Myspell installed on my box, so all good. Besides i have been waiting for inline spell checker for sometime now.
Regarding content blocker, it’s OK feature, but I will retain AdBlock on Firefox.

My apologies then.
(Based upon the fact that i do not reconise you as not Ziff Davis, And the fact that the article is written by someone different and doesnt credit the table as from someone else)
AdBlock is a very good idea, But you have to admit, If that was included in Firefox by default, Then webmasters would be forced to push firefox away, as they’re potential revenue falling away. (And if a site has ads on them, then in my opinion its to make money anyway).

Remembering open tabs is something that is handled in Firefox now isn’t it? Or is that just one of the extensions I use…

Indeed, most of the functionality listed as missing from Firefox can easily be added with an extension. In fact, that’s by design. Firefox is a small download with no bloat. You can pick the features you want and need from the hundreds of extensions available. And to iiq374, you are probably using Tab Mix Plus, it comes with “session saver” which remembers tabs.

It will always be Firefox at present, last time I looked IE still had some serious holes and problems.
But then being a Mac user Safari will always be the browser of choice.

Firefox is always going to be my first choice ^_^.

I used to think so… been on Flock for quite a while now and love it… uninstalled FF about a month ago, haven’t looked back.

Well, as Flock is using FF as it’s engine, and hope that Flock users will get all the added benefits from FF 2, makes you a Firefox user

I know Flock is FF-based, but I’d argue that it brings enough features to the table to be regarded as its own browser… The extra bits from FF like extension support only sweeten the deal…

I use Firefox and Flock for different purposes. Mostly staying with Firefox for now as most of the extensions I absolutely have to use I can only use with Firefox at this point.
But I do agree with The Technocrat. Flock brings enough features of it’s own that can be regarded as it’s own browser. It’s like having the best of Firefox with some additional features (eg, I would expect a blogger and photo sharer to use Flock more so than someone that isn’t a blogger and photo sharer).

Firefox will always be the best for me, and you can remember the previous tabs with an extention, so it’s the best. However this post has made me have a good long look at Opera, I love Opera too now, hmmm choices…

I use Safari all the time, apart from on the odd couple of sites which are badly written and need the Gecko rendering engine to work; in which case I use Camino, a OS X native Gecko browser.
Firefox for Mac uses the same rendering engine but is so slow at starting up and hogs memory, plus it doesn’t even use the OS X skin for buttons and things :O

I personally use Galeon. Which for those who have never heard it is a browser for GNU/Linux that uses the same rendering engine (Gecko) as Firefox.
I like the beta of Firefox and I may switch completely to Firefox 2.0 when it becomes a stable release. I am not sure yet but time will tell
